In 2010 Aurora Lampworks was chosen to restore two very unique fixtures that stand in front of the Aetna Building in Hartford, CT.

These "hourglass" fixtures are positioned on either side of the entranceway of the building.  While over the years they had developed a beatiful green patina time had not been so kind to the sockety and diffusers.  Our scope of work for this restoration focused on replicating the old cracked diffusers and rewiring the 12 sockets in each.  The metal itself was cleaned with conservation grade cleaner as to not disturb the existing patina.  New metal base plates were fabricated as well as panels to cover holes left by old flood lights.  These fixtures will use cutting edge, energy efficent LED screw-in lamps.
