Now this is an unusual light! This bronze hood is mounted over the doorway To the Harlem Sub Station where the electrical connections that power that subway line are maintained.

Most of the 42 glass panels had been broken over the years. After taking out all the old putty holding the shards of glass in, we devised a new vandal proof glazing technique. A protective layer of plexiglass was added to each panel to protect the replacement amber stained glass behind it. A bead of silicone between the plexiglass and the glass insulates the glass so that any impact will be absorbed by the barrier.
